“Remembering 580”, Hayes Valley History Show, July 5th to August 5th, 2008
“Remembering 580” was co-produced by
HVAC in conjunction with AgeSong, the current owners of the former market
building. The show was a retrospective involving merchants, neighbors, artists
and the former and current owners. It chronicled many stories from the community
with the emphasis on the last twenty years of development. The kick-off ceremony
offered doughnuts, coffee and juice in the tradition of the Kharsa family;
thirty year owners of 580 Hayes. A potluck dinner brought former customers and
neighbors together as one of the many events held during the month long
exhibition.
